HDB Webcast 50th Anniversary Celebration Event Live

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2010.

As part of the celebration to mark HDB’s 50 years of public housing in Singapore, a birthday bash and family day event was held at HDB Hub on 31 January 2010.

After the Opening Ceremony address by Mr Tay Kim Poh, the Chairman and CEO of HDB, exciting line-up of activities like games, Magic Show, HDB musical, performance and lucky draw were followed to entertain the participants. The activities took place concurrently at the Atrium, Auditorium and Multi-Purpose Hall of the HDB Hub.

In order for the audience at different locations to view the CEO address, and share the fun and excitement of the activities organised for the participants, HDB decided to hold a LIVE Webcast of the events and activities at the Atrium, Auditorium and Multi-Purpose Hall simultaneously. The LIVE Simulcast would allow the audience at one location to view the activities happening at the other two locations.

It was a challenging task to manage and execute a successful live webcast involving multiple locations. After the Event Company’s proposed video conferencing system failed to meet the HDB’s requirements after three demo sessions, HDB strongly recommended that Jupiter Innovations, Singapore’s premier service provider in Web-based Rich Media Communications and e-learning solutions, be engaged to provide the LIVE webcast service.
